Why I Built ROOTT
There is no other way to put it: ROOTT is a calling.
It is a calling I have put off for too long, but one I am now ready to answer.
At the ROOTT of us all, as Caribbean people, there is a raw brilliance with unlimited potential. But for us to reach those destined heights, we must return to our roots and to our truest selves.
I built ROOTT to help Caribbean society hold a mirror to itself through journalistic storytelling.
We must remember where we came from, truly understand who we are and believe in what we can become, together.
ROOTT will dare not only to inform and entertain, but also to challenge. At its core is the belief that progress requires the courage to challenge convention.
I give you my word: ROOTT will return news media to the people, away from divisive agendas that favour some at the expense of the whole. Its purpose will never be compromised.
